The Hon. Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard M. Doro, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to sustainable poverty reduction through the One Humanitarian–One Poverty Response System (OHOPRS), which seeks to connect humanitarian assistance with social protection, economic inclusion and sustainable pathways out of poverty.
Speaking at the 2026 International Day for the Eradication of Poverty in Abuja, the Minister emphasised the need to move from temporary relief to lasting solutions that empower vulnerable Nigerians to become resilient and economically independent.
The event, themed “United for Peace and Human Rights: Safe Homes for All,” brought together government officials, development partners and other stakeholders to strengthen collective efforts towards poverty eradication.
