World Sustainable Development Goals Organization-Nigeria has congratulated the former Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Lagos State Chapter, Mr Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, who was elected the new National President of the Union on Saturday.
According to the congratulatory press statement signed by the Country Representative, H.E., Engr. Kolawole Rasheed Adenekan on Sunday in Lagos described the newly elected National President of the Union, Mr Musiliu Akinsanya as a hardworking, diligent and resilient young leader.
The recent election of Mr. Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly referred to as MC Oluomo, as the new National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Nigeria has generated considerable interest about leadership’s role in promoting sustainable development, particularly in transportation. The World Sustainable Development Goals Organization-Nigeria acknowledged this milestone, underscoring the importance of leadership in advocating for progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“With transportation being a key enabler of economic development, the NURTW’s leadership plays a significant role in the implementation of the SDGs within the sector. Effective leadership is essential for influencing behaviour among transport workers, promoting sustainable practices, and ensuring that transportation contributes positively to the nation’s economy and environment.
“At World Sustainable Development Goals Organization-Nigeria, we wish the new president well in his new role as we pray for God’s wisdom and guidance even as we say congratulations to him”, Kola added.
