In a decisive military action, the Nigerian Armed Forces have neutralized scores of terrorists during a high-precision airstrike on a convoy of armed militants operating along the Zamfara-Kebbi border.

The successful air operation, executed by the Air Component of Operation FASAN YAMMA, was launched following credible intelligence reports that revealed the movement of a terrorist convoy heading toward vulnerable communities in the region. Surveillance teams confirmed the convoy was heavily armed and transporting logistical supplies, prompting a swift and calculated response by the Nigerian military.

During the air raid, multiple motorcycles commonly used by bandits for fast mobility in difficult terrain were destroyed, and a significant number of insurgents were eliminated. Ground assessment reports indicate a major blow to the operational capabilities of the group, marking a notable achievement in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the northwest.

Military authorities say this strike is part of a larger strategy to dismantle terrorist cells and prevent future attacks on communities in Zamfara, Kebbi, and neighboring states. Follow-up operations are underway to ensure that any fleeing elements do not regroup.

The Nigerian Armed Forces commended local communities for their cooperation and reiterated their dedication to restoring peace, protecting lives, and securing the nation’s territorial integrity.

Major General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, urged the public to continue supporting military efforts and assured Nigerians that the armed forces remain resolute and professional in their mission.
