The Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing into law the recently passed tax reform bills and the RMAFC bill, describing the move as a bold and transformative step toward reshaping Nigeria’s fiscal landscape.

In a statement issued on June 30, 2025, RMAFC Chairman Dr. Muhammed Bello Shehu hailed the reforms as historic, noting they will boost transparency, accountability, and efficiency in revenue generation while laying a strong foundation for economic growth and diversification.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the implementation of the reforms, which aim to broaden the tax base, improve compliance, and ease the burden on low-income earners.

RMAFC also praised the National Assembly, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, as well as the Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Lateef Fagbemi, for their collaborative efforts in bringing the reforms to fruition.

Dr. Shehu lauded President Tinubu’s leadership, stating the reforms reflect a deep understanding of the nation’s socio-economic realities and a commitment to national prosperity.
