Two notorious terrorist leaders, Abu Radde and Umar Black, operating in Batsari and Safana Local Government Areas of Katsina State, have surrendered to troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA in the North West operational theatre.
Their surrender on January 19, 2025, is attributed to synchronized offensive operations by ground troops and the air component, which have effectively dislodged terrorists from their enclaves, inflicting significant casualties.
During the operations, troops recovered assorted weapons and ammunition while securing the release of 15 hostages held by the terrorists. The intensified offensive reflects the military’s commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and securing the region.
Troops are maintaining the momentum, focusing on apprehending other notorious leaders, including Bello Turji, who remains at large.
According to the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, the military is determined to eliminate all threats posed by terrorists, either through surrender or decisive action on the battlefield.
“The terrorists have two options: surrender or be buried on the battlefield,” Major General Buba emphasized. “Our operations aim to deny terrorists the ability to carry out acts of terror against citizens while ensuring the safety and security of communities.”
The ongoing operations underscore the military’s resolve to restore peace and stability in affected regions. Citizens are urged to continue supporting the military’s efforts by providing credible information to aid their mission.
