The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, His Excellency Dr. Bello Mohammad Matawalle, has lauded the efforts of the Nigerian military in restoring peace and stability in Zamfara State and other parts of the country.
This commendation comes as Zamfara State witnesses significant improvements in security, with incidents of kidnapping and violent crimes reportedly declining due to the decisive actions of Nigerian security forces.
Demonstrating the improving security landscape, over 50,000 enthusiastic supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came out to warmly welcome Dr. Matawalle, the immediate past Governor of Zamfara, during his recent visit to the state.
This massive show of support underscores the growing confidence among residents in the region’s safety and security.
In a deliberate show of solidarity and faith in the progress made by security operatives, the Honourable Minister opted to travel by road during this festive period. This symbolic decision aimed to boost the morale of the troops stationed along the route, whose tireless efforts have ensured the safety of commuters and residents.
The military’s checkpoints, strategically positioned every four kilometers, have played a pivotal role in enhancing security and providing reassurance to the people.
Dr. Matawalle expressed his profound appreciation to the Nigerian military for their relentless commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
He noted that the improved security situation has allowed citizens to travel without fear, signaling a positive shift towards normalcy in the region.
