The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, H.E. Dr. Bello Mohammad Matawalle, has expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s capacity to transform the economies of Zamfara State and the nation.

Speaking during his ongoing five-day visit to Zamfara, Matawalle, who was a former governor of the state, commended President Tinubu’s exceptional support for Local Government Councils and state governments, describing it as unparalleled.

“No previous administration has demonstrated such a strong commitment to developing local councils and states as President Tinubu,” Matawalle said, lauding the President’s grassroots mobilization skills and dedication to local development.

He highlighted the administration’s allocation of substantial funds to states and local councils, which he said has empowered them to implement impactful projects.

During his address to a crowd of supporters who welcomed him, Matawalle emphasized the need for members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara to unite in reclaiming the state’s leadership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He urged them to remain law-abiding and committed to the party’s vision.

The minister also reassured the gathering of the federal government’s commitment to addressing the region’s security challenges, including banditry and terrorism.

“With the federal government’s initiatives, we will soon experience a renewed sense of safety and peace,” he assured.

He called on the people of Zamfara to continue supporting the government at all levels, expressing optimism about a brighter future. “Together, we can restore peace and order in our country,” Matawalle said.

The visit underscores Matawalle’s ongoing commitment to engaging with his home state and supporting federal initiatives to drive economic and security reforms.
