In a time when Nigeria needs stability and focus, the unwarranted calls for the resignation of Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), have sparked a wave of concern.
But in a world press conference from Lafia, a resounding voice of reason has emerged. The Global Alliance for Peace and Unity (GAPU), led by its President, Solomon Pevkyaa, has passionately rallied behind the SGF, calling these distractions baseless and counterproductive.
Describing Akume as a “patriot, peacemaker, and the backbone of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration,” GAPU urged Nigerians to recognize his unmatched contributions to governance. From his distinguished service as a former governor and senator to his current role as the stabilizing force in Tinubu’s engine room, Akume’s leadership has been a cornerstone of progress.
“Senator Akume is not just an administrator; he’s a strategist whose sound judgment and calm demeanor have ensured the seamless execution of sensitive government policies,” Pevkyaa declared.
“This is no time for distractions. Nigeria needs unity, not division.”
In commending Tinubu’s achievements in restoring peace and enabling farmers to reclaim their livelihoods, GAPU passed a vote of confidence in Akume.
The group emphasized that the SGF’s role is pivotal and demands unwavering focus to guide the government’s vision.
The call for unity resonated further as GAPU appealed to the Tinubu administration to deepen its engagement with Nigerians on policy matters.
“This administration must continue to listen to the masses and incorporate their voices into governance,” Pevkyaa added, emphasizing that inclusivity remains key to sustaining peace and development.
Senator Akume’s dedication to national progress and his reputation as a bridge-builder have earned him widespread respect.
GAPU’s message is clear: Nigeria cannot afford to lose such an exemplary leader to distractions. The SGF must be allowed to continue his vital work in steering the nation toward stability and prosperity.
