Minister of State for Defence Condemns Murder of Gatawa District Head, Orders Military Action

The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle MON, has vehemently condemned the gruesome murder of Alhaji Isa Bawa, the Head of Gatawa District in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Describing the act as “heinous, barbaric, and abominable,”

Dr. Matawalle vowed that those responsible for the killing will be swiftly brought to justice.

In a statement issued on Friday, Dr. Matawalle expressed his deep outrage over the incident, calling it a “senseless and brutal act that will not be tolerated.”

He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators are held accountable for their actions.

“We will do everything in our power to ensure that those responsible are held accountable,” the Minister declared.

Dr. Matawalle has directed the Chief of Defence Staff to immediately initiate a comprehensive investigation into the murder and to ensure that those involved are apprehended.

He assured the public that the Armed Forces of Nigeria will leave no stone unturned in their efforts to bring the criminals to justice.

“Security is a top priority for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, and he has been providing unwavering support to the military in this regard,” the Minister noted.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians.”

The Minister also extended his deepest condolences to the family of the late District Head, the people of Gatawa, and the entire Sokoto State Government, expressing solidarity in this time of grief.
