The Minister of State for Youth Development, Engr. Ayodele Olawande, has called on Nigerian youths to seize the upcoming initiatives offered by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.
Emphasizing the ministry’s commitment to creating growth opportunities, Olawande addressed a crowd of students and serving corps members at the Youth Opportunity Summit in Kaduna.
The summit, organized by Hauwa Liman, Technical Assistant to the Vice President on Women and Youth Engagement, provided a platform for the Minister to highlight the importance of continuous learning and proactive engagement with available resources.
“As youth, we need to open our minds and use the power of the internet and new media at our disposal to seek out opportunities,” Olawande stated.
He mentioned several programs, including the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) and the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA), designed to support the development and funding needs of young Nigerians.
Olawande reassured the audience that accessing these opportunities does not require any special connections or ‘godfathers’.

“Don’t join those shouting ‘na lie’, because you only need to seek information and be guided on how to take advantage of the many opportunities the government is presenting to young people,” he added.
